Barb's 25th High School Reunion

Old friends still bring good times.
Stacey C, me, Stacey D and Margie; Margie, Stacey D, Betty (my sister) and me.

Sunday, July 20 - Florissant Fossil Beds

After scout camp, we stopped at a close by National Park on the way home for some education. Here are Christian, Jeremy, Hunter and Robbie in front of a petrified redwood tree stump. This stump is massive at about 6 feet wide.

All of these fossils are between 34-35 million years old. Very interesting!

Cub Scout Campig Weekend at Golden Bell

June 18-->20, 2008

Friday night Becky and Barb prepped for the 'Cat Eye' night hike. It is a scavanger hunt for the boys where they must find the next cat head by following the instructions written on the back of the previous clue. The scouts use flashlights to spy the bike reflector's that look like cat eyes when a light hits them. While we try to come up with clues, Mike makes dinner and Robbie, Jeremy and Drake play in Robbie's tent.

Saturday morning started early with fishing followed by breakfast in the main lodge. Followed by a few activities... Robbie on the zip line!

Who said only the kids get to have fun? Yup, that's me...Barb, climbing the tree for the zip line. I did it last year and was definitely looking forward to doing it again this year.

Robbie enjoying kayaks. Mike watching Robbie enjoy the kayaks.

Robbie after making a sweet 'hole-in-one.'

An innocent game of volleyball.

Going up, at the top and then coming back down.

This camp has everything a kid loves!

After group dinner was time for jokes, songs and storytelling.

And lastly, the best way to top off a wonderful weeked of camping, S'MORES by the campfire!

New Addition to the Larkin Family ~~ Tulle

We welcomed Ms. Tulle into our family on Saturday, June 21, 2008. Tulle (Too-ley) is a 5 year old white mini-schnauzer. I was lucky enough to get her thru the Colorado Schnauzer Rescue. She is a fantastic edition to our family and we all love her greatly.

Harley tends to think of Tulle as a giant squeak toy. I'm working with her to correct that belief.

Tug of war with the blue bone... Tulle may be 1/3 the size of Harley but she will hold her own.

Now the chase around the familyroom couch begins (Tulle chasing Harley). All floor plants had to be strategically moved due to this new activity in the home.

Game's over.

Camping over Independence Day

Camping at Camp Hale. It was the training site for the 10th Mountain Division, the "Fighting Panda's." It was the winter mountain warfare training site for WWII.

Tom and Mike taking a break. Tom and Marcia going for a ride.

Robbie logged over 50 miles of trail this trip. On breaks he did a little target practice with the BB gun. He is proving to be a great shot.
