On our way back home from Minnesota, we stayed a night in Des Moines, Iowa. We had pizza at the old high school hang out, The Tavern. Yes, it was just as good as Mike remembered.

After dinner, Mike took us on a tour of his old neighborhood.

Our trip to Minnesota in August. Had a wonderful visit with Bob and Paula. In addition to catching up with them, we did some fishing, site seeing, made friends and even saw a turtle race. A great time was had by all!

One Merit Badge Rob worked on required he do some volunteer work. Here we are working at the Evergreen Off-Leash Dog Park helping to grate the trails and save them from rain/snow errosion.

Boy Scout Camp Summer 2011 - Peaceful Valley at Chris Doppins Camp near Kiowa, Colorado. Some classes were held indoors but most, outside. Here you see their tents they stayed in for the week, the dining hall and class time.

Rob attended a week long day camp called ... CAMP JAM. He learned how what it takes to play in a band. At the end of the week, all the groups put on a concert. Allow me to present to you the new musicial group touring sensation ... TOE JAM, singing 'Sweet Home Alabama' !

Barb speaking now... volunteering is a huge part of our lives. At work, I am the on-site coordinator for MillerCoors bi-monthly Bonfils Blood Drives. I also collect on behalf of MillerCoors, personal care items (soaps, shampoos, etc.) to donate to local shelters for those in need. In June, out Finance team worked at a local Family Tree Center (a safe house for battered women with children). We cleaned, did yard work and performed household repairs. Last winter we worked at the Food Bank of the Rockies sorting donated food items.

The RMMC plant I work in (Rocky Mountain Metail Container) performs road side trash pick up once a quarter as well. Always some kind of volunteer work to be done.

Very personally rewarding.
