After the 6th Grade Continuation, we head to the hills for a summer vacation with Gainey McCoy and Mike Pereira.

We stop during one ride to watch some jeeper's have fun on the rocks.

A mile (or two) from nowhere, a flat tire.

6th grade continuation ceremony. Speeches were given by the principal and students. A touching and emotional day.

Prior to the big day, class room mom's had the students make creative hand print artowork that was displayed during the ceremony. During the setup the night before the big day, I managed to sneak a couple pictures of Rob and Christian with their hand prints.

The end of Prospect Valley Elementary School. The closure of one chapter in Rob's book of life. Another chapter awaits.

Memorial Day tribute to veterans at "The Courtyard Retirement Center" where Joe's great grandmother and great grandfather live.

Joe, Serge, Rob and Nick participated in a celebration to honor the Military Vets living there with a presentation of our country's colors.

6th grade end-of-school pool / tennis party ! All 75 6th graders had a huge party at our local outdoor neighboorhood pool. Teachers and a volunteer parents helped make this last elementary school event a huge success.

Greek Mythology studies acted out. The kids did creative boards, MP3 voice recordings and dressed accordingly.

A Scout's work is never done. Here is Boy Scout Troop 514 picking up trash along one of our busy neighborhood main streets.

"The more a child see's his parents active involvement with volunteer programs, the more likely they are to volunteer."

After the work was over, we met at Mike's showroom for pizza.

Easter Sunday started with silly egg hunt for Rob... one was left in his room with a note.... 'One is here, six are left, how long will it take you to find the rest?' Easter Bunny is getting a little wiser these years and hiding the treats. Took Rob over 30 minutes to find all six.

After Church service, we then went to Stan and Joey Pereira's for dinner. There we met up with Mike, Gainey, Morgan, Steve, Bryce, Nancy, Dave, Adam and Andy.

Joey sent the boys on a scavanger hunt. Reading each note that lead to the next, not giving any a rest. Till at last they circled around and the treasure they finally found !



After the hunt and a huge wonderful meal, the kids got to paint candy eggs Morgen and her Mom made.

Followed by a well deserved trip to Dairy Queen !

Late this winter a Mama and Daddy fox moved in under our shed in the backyard. They only had 1 kit though. We named him Junior.

What an awesome opportunity to watch nature unfold up close and personal. We watched as Mama nursed Junior and eventually taught him to hunt on his own.

The pictures are somewhat fuzzy has I took them thru the window and screen. I did not want to go outside and disturb them. We let Junior grow big and strong till he could hunt on his own. Then, sad to say, we boarded up the holes under the shed. It's time for Junior and his family to move on. On a happy note, we see them often though (and our squirrel population is certainly down).
